Absolutely loved it! Killer first line. So simple, yet brilliantly done. Loved all of it. Thank you for making my day. Now I want to bottle this story, and sip it on rainy days like fine wine.☺️
(By the way, since it has romance in it - which I adore! - if you want, you can share it for Thorny Thursday tomorrow. To get more eyes on this lovely story. Just a suggestion. Don’t hide your treasure.)
I'm with you, Kathrine. I loved this. It is a story to tuck away for rainy days. I am experiencing a downpour of rain in my grief. I would love to see my wife again, if only long enough for a smile.
Take care, Elliot. You are certainly a rising star and a light in the darkness.
This was a wonderful read! I like how it begins with him unable to attend his own funeral, as if he refused to truly accept his passing and thus is anchored to the mortal plane. The majority of the story upholds a melancholy tone brimming with isolation and aimlessness until a chance encounter brings a sense of hope, which interpreted as a wonderful metaphor for losing and finding love. Once again, excellent work!
